I Eat, I Breathe and now I Blog!

Sorry about the derth of blogs. So here the Reader's Digest version of my life since Mid-Sept and my arrival in glorious Bloominton, IN.

Started work in mid-September. Met a lot of people and some I still can't remember their name even though most people are required to wear name tags. My department is quietly rebelling and only our manager is wearing the name tag.
And very week more new hirers report to work . I can tell some big growing pains are starting to show up. Lots of people who don't know what to do and how to do whatever it is that they are supposed do to. Very must the "flow them in the pool and see if they can swim" going.

Still experience lots of culture shock.
  1. No recycle bin at home! Don't these people know that resources are limited.
  2. Fresh fruit just doesn't taste the same. No real flavor.
  3. A lot of people haven't bought meat in the grocery store in year! They go out the kill it and keep it in their refrigerator. Without skinning it! *Shivers* I'm continuing with being a grocery store carnivore. Skin it and wrap it up in shrink wrap and I'll think about buying it.
  4. There's a limit on squirrels. You can only kill and keep 8 squirrels a day. I don't even want one!
  5. Ice on my car nearly every morning since mid October. *brrrrr*
  6. Took up knitting since its an indoor activity and it so dam cold around that its wearable too.
  7. Missing my book/blog friend! I keep saying I'll blog be then something else happens.
  8. The adventure with the Indiana Highway patrol was exciting but I can't remember anything about due to migraine, migraine medication and Ambien. To keep the rest of the world safe, the Shaymless Aymless will no longer be taking Ambien. I apparently fall in the small catagory of people who sleep drive when on Ambien. Now I must find a new meds for the insomnia.
  9. I've officially have gotten 3 people hooked on some of my favorites. So I'll have lots people gab about books and a support group 'gotta-have-that-book-now'.
  10. I really miss warn sunlight. I think we had some sunlight was week and it was sooooo cold. Still below freezing.
Anyway.... I'm going to try to blog at lease once a week or so.

Also planning on going to RWA and hang out with some really cool bloggers. I still need to figure out rooming optiond.

(((((( Aymless ))))))) !!!!
It's so good to hear from you. But, um, sorry to hear about the shock to your system this move has caused. I don't think I'm going to ask about the squirrel thing. Ew. LOL.

Sleep driving does NOT sound like a good thing, but neither is sleep deprivation, so I do hope you find an alternate medication or solution to your insomnia. Have you tried reading nonfiction? Think of your worst subject in school and read a textbook on said subject? That would put me out, for sure.

Looking forward to seeing more posts!
Keep warm! :)

Re: the recycling thing - it's not limited to the Midwest. My parents live in Michigan and have recycling pick-up at home. I live in California - and yeah, no bin. At all.

Yikes - sleep driving! Yeah, no more Ambien for you young lady.

Welcome back! Sounds like there's lots to adjust to. OMG, we have so many squirrels in our trees here, I don't think they'd make good eating though! O.o

It sounds like you had an exciting introduction to Indiana law enforcement. You know, if your life was a romance novel, the patrolman would have looked like Patrick Dempsey, and he would have swept you off your feet... (ahem, sorry, I watched Enchanted last night)

(((Aymless))) You're back! *happy dance*

Ambien + driving = not a good idea. So noted! Was the Indiana Highway patrol officer cute? I sure hope the insomnia settles. Maybe it's the stress of moving? Plus it's winter - bit of a shock to the system. Spring it on it's way for you (autumn for me :)

Thanks everyone! Its good to be back. I think my fingers are either getting used to the cold (scary) or thawing a bit (still scary).

Yes the sleep driving not fun. Very scary. Have court date and doctor's letter. No more ambien for the Aymless. Still working on the sleeping bit.

Christine: I really didn't need to know about the squirrels either. Now I know squirrel brains makes really good gravy (taking it on heresy). *shivers*

Wendy: Okay maybe the whole living in Northern California has made recycling a no brainer "of course". *sigh* I still feel really guilty about throwing away my fizzing-water bottles.

Renee: There's always that court date. Maybe he'll really look like Patrick Dempsey ('cause I can't really remember what he looked like or much else about that day), be a super guy who hasn't been able to forget me (hopefully not for the swerving all over the highway part) and ask me out. And the real miracle will be me saying "yes" because I'll probably be all "he's a stalker". ^-`

Orannia: Sadly I have no idea what he looks like. For all I know he could been a Chippendale's dancer *sigh* My friend tells me that he was really nice. Can't wait for spring. As it is more snow on the way.

Sarai: Yup KS is worse when it comes to snow. You are more than welcome come up north to the so called "mild" winter. *snicker* or we can meet in St. Louis. I know a really good used book store down there. ^-`

Ayms! I've missed you! I'm sorry it's so cold there - think warm thoughts. :)

I don't know what I'd do without my recycling bin! That gets filled up in our house way before the trash bin gets full. Hang in there!
